Newark, OH Obit., 1893: Mrs. Susan Wires, wife of David Wires, proprietor of the U.S. Hotel at Frazeysburg, died Monday, September 18th. She was born in New Jersey, Nov 2nd,1821. At her death she was 71 years, 10 months, and 16 days, having been married over 51 years. Funeral services...M.E. Church. She left an aged husband and seven children and a host of friends.

He had three -on forty acres west of C[ampbells]burg -80 acres near Clayeville and one near Oxonia he called the Hill Farm -120 acres -as I remember. He was a shrewd trader and made quite a bit of money. He was about five ft. 8 or 9 in. tall -weighed from 240 to 250 lbs. -almost black hair (...)." Mary: Died on typhoid fever.
